Hi there! My name is Rowen and I’m a private violin, piano, and composition teacher in Los Angeles.

I take a personalized approach to teaching, shaping each lesson around the individual goals and needs of my students. Music is an endless journey, and one of the things I love most about it is that there’s always something new to explore—there’s no single "right" way to get better. Whether we're working on a Bach fugue or experimenting with the vibe of a modern pop track, I want every lesson to feel inspiring and fun. My aim is for my students to grow not just as musicians, but as well-rounded people who understand the joy and privilege of playing music. I try to pass on the same sense of gratitude I’ve received from my mentors, encouraging them to find their own path and passion in music.

I began singing before I could speak and loved composing jingles and playful tunes as a child. At the age of 5, I began playing the violin, and my professional career started shortly after. I sang on movies such as The Polar Express, Mulan II, and Lilo and Stitch II, to name a few. I also had the privilege to sing on Neil Young’s album, “Americana.” 

I studied classical violin performance at Belmont University with Elisabeth Small. Since graduating, I studied composition, arranging, and orchestration with Carl Marsh, a prominent Nashville-based arranger, composer, and producer. I also had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of violin under the instruction of esteemed violinist Roberto Cani, concertmaster of the Los Angeles Opera. 

I released my first full album with Warner Chappell Productions in 2023 and am currently working on my sophomore album, which will be released under Warner Chappell Productions in 2025.

In addition to my work as a composer, I’ve arranged and recorded for artists such as Katy Kirby, Bully, Grumpy, Lou Turner, Jerry Holliday, and Dreamer Boy. I’ve also performed with Kacey Musgraves, Daniel Tashian, Lydia Luce, and others as a string player.  

Outside of music, I like to do yoga, play with my dogs, and hang out with my friends and family.
